At this moment, we analyse results of a double blind placebo versus bumetanide trial in autism. In my experience, bumetanide seems to be efficient in autism without any age limitation, so it may be tried in the case of a 12 years boy. It seems to be efficient with posology of 1/2 mg third a day and effects are retarded (betwen 2 and 4 month). The principals side effects are diuretic and loss of potassium which need a plasmatic  checking. You will find attached to this mail our first article. I work in Brest, in the Brittany's Autism Center. The mail is perhaps the more simple way to be in contact.

I AM a father of a  12 years old child, with autistic disorder.

I have been informed by your Italian colleague Dr. Andrea Barberis, Italian Institute of Technology, that you have got interesting data about the role of GABA in autism and that you started treatment on patients with drug therapy with successful, and fully documented.

My question is if the diuretic bumetanide can be given with successfully even at the age of my son.

Is  there  any kind of  side effects?

Do you thin it will be possible for me to pay a visit at your  Institute in Marseille and get more infomation?

How  can I contact you again and  how  can I get constant updates?
